How can we help?
Quick answers about the map, your account, friends and hosting. If yours isn’t here, write to us.
Using SeeMee
Do I need an account?
No. Every live city is open to browse. We only ask you to make one when it gives you something back, like keeping your saves or telling friends you’re going.
Open the mapWhich cities is SeeMee in?
Portland right now. Chicago, Miami, New York, Los Angeles, Austin and Houston are next. A city that isn’t live yet shows its map with a card saying so.
How do you check events?
We look up each event’s time and place on the organizer’s page before it’s listed. The listing shows when we last checked, and links there. If an event coming up can’t be checked again, it comes off the map. Plans still change, so check before you go.
An event looks wrong. What should I do?
Check the organizer’s page first. If the listing still looks off, email support@myseemee.com with the event’s link and what’s wrong, and we’ll fix it.
What do Going and Interested do?
They’re your plans. The event stays in your plans, and your friends can see it unless you turn that off in Settings. The counts on an event are rounded, show only once a few people are in, and leave out anyone who keeps their plans to themselves.
Does SeeMee know where I am?
On the web, your location stays in your browser and only sorts what’s nearby. The iPhone app, when it’s out, will use it on your phone to show how far things are, and send it only when you check in at an event for its badge. It isn’t stored.
Location in the Privacy PolicyYour account
Is it the same account as the iPhone app?
Yes. When the iPhone app is out, sign in with the same email and password and your saves, plans and friends will be there.
I forgot my password.
Choose “Forgot password” when you sign in. We’ll email you a link to set a new one.
Reset your passwordHow do I delete my account?
Sign in and use Manage profile. It deletes your profile, saves, plans, comments, friends and the events you host. The Privacy Policy lists everything it removes.
What deleting removesFriends and privacy
Who sees my plans?
Your friends, or only you if you change the setting. Your badges work the same way, except the ones you pick for your profile: those are public, like your name, @name, photo and bio. Counts of everyone going start at 3 and round down, so they never point at one person.
Can people find me?
While “Show me in search” is on, people can find you by name or @name and see you in friend suggestions. Turn it off in Settings to stay out of both. Your friends can always find you.
Who can find youHow do I block or report someone?
Tap More on a comment to report it or block the person who wrote it. You can also report or block someone from the More on their profile. Blocking hides you from each other across SeeMee while you’re signed in, and they aren’t told. SeeMee reviews every report within 24 hours. If someone is in danger, call 911.
Community rulesHosting
I host events. How do I get on the map?
Hosting on SeeMee opens soon. New hosts’ listings will be reviewed before they go on the map, and verified hosts, whose Instagram or website SeeMee has confirmed is theirs, will go straight on.
How do badges work?
Go to the event and check in with your location in the iPhone app, from half an hour before it starts until two hours after it ends. The badge is yours to keep, and badges can’t be bought or traded. The app is coming soon.
The iPhone app
When is the app out, and is there Android?
The iPhone app is coming soon. We haven’t set a date. Android isn’t built yet. For now the website works on any phone or computer, and what you save to your account will be in the app.
